FOLLOW THE INCA FOOTSTEPS TO DISCOVER MACHU PICCHU

THE CLASSIC INCA TRAIL
04 days/03 nights
This amazing trek will take to mysterious ways to get to the spectacular Machu Picchu. Join this trek with other interesting cities that Peru offers you. Here a little introduction of the Inca Trail, 4days/3nights. We recommend to have an overnight in Aguas Calientes after this unique experience.

DAY 1 Cusco / Km 82 / Yuncachimpa
In the morning we leave Cusco (3350m) with a tourist bus and go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas (Km 82), the place where we meet the whole group and will start the Inca Trail. Miskay community will be the place where we will stop for lunch and get an explanation of the archeological complex of Llactapata. The next place where we will stop for the night will be the camp of Yuncachimpa at a height of 3300m/ 10826ft.

DAY 2 Yuncachimpa / Warmihuañusca pass / Pacaymayu / Runkurakay pass / Chaquicocha
An early morning start of our excursion is favorable for hiking uphill, always gradually, through the Valley of Llulluchapampa (3850m) to the highest point of this section which is called the pass of Warmihuañusca (4200m), the place where we will have great views of the mysterious Nevado de Verónica. After enjoyable time we will continue down and up hill to Runkurakay pass (3050m). From there, we will see our camp site named Chaquicocha at (3650m). During the day we visit the settlement of Runkurakay and Sayacrmarca.

DAY 3 Chaquicocha / Phuyupatamarca / Wiñayhuayna
We have a beautiful day walking through the challenge ecosystem towards the tropical forest of Wiñaywayna. The nearest settlement is named Phuyupatamarca (3600m), the place where we will enjoy across Inca engineering build. After that we visit the settlement of Wiñaywayna “Forever young” (2650m), and place for our last camp site.

DAY 4 Wiñayhuayna / Machu Picchu / Cusco
Alter our breakfast at around 5:00am, we will be heading with our flashlight in the direction of the Sun Gate (Inti Punku, 2780m), where we will watch the sun rise over Machupicchu and Waynapicchu. At the archeological site of Machupicchu (2400m) it is the best moment to enjoy the breathtaking cultural charm. You will have some free time to spend on the archeological site before we will take the train to return back to Cusco.

What you need to bring?
Backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping mat (we will provide you with this one), rainwear, complete change of clothing, sweater, jacket (something warm), water bottle and sterilizing tablets, flash light and batteries, broad - brim or peaked cap, sun block, insect repellent, toiletries and toilet paper. Selection of small snacks such as chocolates, dried fruit, biscuits, etc. Camera (wrapped in plastic bag) and extra money.

  • Tourist train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco or Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and Cusco by bus.

Not included:
  • First breakfast at the began of the trail and last lunch in Aguas Calientes
  • Bus downhill from Machu Picchu ruins to Aguas Calientes where the train station is situated; additionally you can pay the cost of $7.00 for this service. Other possibility is a walk of an hour.
  • Sleeping bag.
Conditions:
1. All participants will have to carry their own back packs.
2. MUNAYKI PERU TOUR OPERATOR no refunds will be given if a participant decides to cancel the trip prior to departure or during the trip (except the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu and the train tickets from Aguas Calientes to Cusco).
3. A participant must declare if he/she has any sickness or medical disorder and must bring his/her own medicines.
4. MUNAYKI PERU TOUR OPERATOR can not be held responsible for natural problems (for instance a land slide) or other problems not due to MUNAYKI PERU TOUR OPERATOR (for instance late train departure).
5. All participants must bring their own passport
